Bathroom

Independence in the bathroom is not only for potty training.

Foster and encourage self-awareness for your child.

  • Use a child-level mirror to demonstrate how to properly blow nose and check faces after a meal

  • Your child can have access to their own first-aid kit to care for scrapes and cuts.

*do not immediately replace bandaids after their have been used up, so your child begins to understand use and waste.

  • Potty Training Essentials

Brushing Teeth

  • Sing a song for brushing teeth (Happy Birthday, Twinkle Twinkle, etc.) or use a visual timer.

  • Take turns, child brushes, followed by parent.

  • Do it together, side by side

  • Find a point of interest. “Let’s listen for the sound the brush makes against the teeth!”
