Spring Bundles!
Together with For Small Hands, we have created a few bundles of activities for your child to welcome the spring season.
Discover teacher-approved, purposeful activities, and books that will delight your child and foster their independent play and concentration.
Glorious Garden Bundle
Inspire an appreciation for nature and outdoor activity through this kit that will find magic and discovery in the simplest things. Introduce the Gardener tools with a proper lesson on how to use them in dirt, soil, sand, or assisting with gardening together. Your child can create their own kaleidoscope with small treasures discovered outside! Care for plants is made easier and fool-proof with the mister, both indoors and out. "Wiggling Worms at Work" will highlight the role that these creatures play in the ecosystem, as well as offer a guide for activities to do at home.
Creative Culinary Bundle
The more your child is involved with handling, and preparing food, the more they will be invested in tasting and enjoying meals presented. Further your child's understanding of where food comes from with the book, "Plants Feed Me." Demonstrate for your child proper use of the vegetable peeler and scrub brush, so they can participate in food and meal preparation. The wavy vegetable chopper can be used with softer vegetables, fruits, and cheese, to create delightful shapes that bring whimsy to cooking. The small cutting board is the perfect size for your child to keep food organized and centered with freedom to make mistakes and taste while prepping!
Blossoming Minds Bundle
To further understand and categorize the world around them, a Montessori classroom may present lessons about the "Parts of the Flower." Reinforce this knowledge at home with both the book and the Wildflower Fan that your child can continue to learn, or follow up with their own art work. Introducing the tiny glass jug for flower arrangements will not only be an enjoyable flower-cutting experience, but teaches children to handle glass items with care. The jarware flower frog is a great way to work with additional stems in floral arranging. The sunprint kit makes photo-like imagery that can be used with flowers, plants, or even toys, and tiny objects from around the home.
Spring Seedlings Bundle
Ideal for babies, this collection offers experiences that will further your child's development of the hands and eyes. Grasping the mini-maracas to hear the sound fosters control and coordination in tiny grips. The pop-up toy is a teacher-favorite to look for developmental milestones, as the child will attempt to create the right amount of pressure that pops each wooden figure out of its hole. Visually, your child will track the movements of small beads cascading through the Rainmaker Rainbow Rainstick, and find connection and recognition with the book, Everywhere Babies.
Easter/Spring Bundle
"Celebrate Easter" is a book with real imagery that your child can identify with to understand how the celebration of Easter may be celebrated. Teachers recommend odd shaped crayons, such as these Crayon Rocks, which force the hand to the correct pincer grip and give children the practice and stability needed for hand-control eventually necessary for handwriting. In the spirit of encouraging freedom of art expression through the process, allow your child to explore with the staple-free stapler while keeping tiny fingers safe. Children love real imagery, which is offered in this sticker book of real items found in nature. The beautiful brass magnifying glass can be worn as a necklace to accompany nature walks, or exploration outdoors.
