Spring Break Guide
Survive spring break with our suggested schedule and activities
Spring Break can be a time to slow down the pace and allow for more of a relaxed daily experience. Slower mornings, more time for reading, playing games together, doing puzzles, and time outside exploring.
Keeping your child's routine is important too, but allow for freedom and flexibility within certain time frames.
Tailor sample schedule with what works for you and your family.
MONDAY
Hide and Seek Muffins
TUESDAY
Head outside for a nature walk, or scavenge items found around the house or front yard.
Create faces on a piece of paper, table or directly on the ground.
Faces can be glued down or left to blow away and disappear!
WEDNESDAY
Use the Lily Pad template or create your own.
Number lily pads, and invite your child to decorate with corresponding number of “water drops.”
Place on ground in order and your child can jump from one to the next.
Re-arrange and sort in a silly order, so your child has to jump in different directions.
Introduce the teen numbers as an extra challenge!
THURSDAY
Puzzle Mix-Up
Mix up the pieces of 2-3 puzzles in a bowl.
Children can also use tongs to get the pieces for fine motor control.
Friday
Connect the Stickers
Arrange small stickers on a piece of paper.
Use a crayon or a pencil to connect the dots of the same color or connect the stickers with the same theme.
After you finish connecting one color of dots or theme, connect a different one.
Notice the design that you made by connecting the dots.
Also, love these dot-to-dot books which are great for children 4-6 practicing counting and number recognition.
A few other activities to try
We love this Nature Book for directed purpose exploring outside.
Make a rock and stick clock.
